SpectrifyAI

About SpectrifyAI

Built on Three Years of R&D With the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka.

Not a pivot. Not a concept. A product built from the ground up with the scientists who set the standards Ceylon Tea is judged by.

Our Story

How We Got Here

01

The structural problem

Ceylon Tea commands a premium because of quality. But the tools to prove that quality at the factory level were either slow, expensive, or both. A moisture test took six hours. A polyphenol test took two days and cost LKR 6,000 per sample. By the time a result came back, the lot had moved - or the wrong decision had already been made.

02

The R&D process

We spent three years working directly with the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka to build and validate NIR spectral models against TRI reference standards. That process meant building calibration datasets across factory environments, testing accuracy against the ISO oven drying method and chemical extraction methods, and iterating until the models could hold up to independent review.

03

The validation

In December 2025, the Tea Research Institute validated SpectrifyAI's moisture device - the first commercial NIR spectrometer in Sri Lanka to receive that validation. It means the instrument has been independently validated against the same standards used at the Colombo auction.

Where we are now

SpectrifyAI is deployed across Sri Lanka's tea supply chain - with exporters, brokers, and factory pilots. Our active R&D is expanding the platform into herbs, spices, and other agricultural commodities where the same measurement gap exists.

SpectrifyAI's moisture model was validated against TRI reference standards — the same standards used at the Colombo auction. Formal validation was received in December 2025, making SpectrifyAI the first commercial NIR spectrometer in Sri Lanka to carry TRI validation. TPP validation is currently in progress.
